Certain pages are designed to reload when the browser window is resized in order to render page elements properly. I have seen browser plugins such as Firebug for Firefox cause this sort of behavior in certain situations, because the plugin effectively resized the page viewport immediately after the page loaded, but can't think of any reason why it would be experienced on any browser on any computer. Which OS platforms and browser versions have you tried?
Looks like an issue with the way host records are merged. The BOINC projects will show your new system as a different system than what you had before. At GridRepublic, we try to automatically merge these records based on the hostname so you don't have to start over with 0 points just because you upgraded your hardware.
I changed the query to look to the host record that was updated most recently for such hardware information, which would be the obvious choice. See if that helped in your case.
There can be a bit of a delay at times between the stats reported on your desktop and those at the GridRepublic or Progress Thru Processors websites. What you see locally should be the most up to date because it comes directly from the project servers when you finish work units.
The stats at Facebook, however, tend to lag a little. Stats servers collect data every day from project servers, and Facebook collects data every day from the stats servers. For this reason, there could be a day or two of delay before your stats make their way to Facebook.
I see you now have some credit at the stats servers, so it shouldn't be long before Facebook is reporting this, too.
Hi Scott, it looks like you registered at GridRepublic first and then added Progress Thru Processors at Facebook. When adding the app at Facebook, it also seems that you added it as a "new" user rather than an existing GridRepublic user, so it created a separate GridRepublic account for you.
Long story short, your computer is attached to the original GridRepublic account and Facebook is attached to a separate account. Not too tough to fix, if this is the case. Try this:
Go to the Facebook applications menu and select Edit Applications; remove Progress Thru Processors from your account
Allow access, then when the registration page appears, select "No," you are an existing GridRepublic user
Enter your mac.com email address (assuming I have this right and you know which one I'm talking about) and the associated password that you used when creating the GridRepublic account
With any luck, this should attach your Facebook account to the GridRepublic account that your computer is attached to. At this point, you should see your project on the dashboard page and have points showing in your chart.
Bruce, you should try clearing the gridrepublic.org cookies out of one of your browsers and then try to log in again. I think this will get you into your account.
If so, we'll then need to investigate the possible underlying causes of this.
I'm not sure why, but your account for WCG at GR has your name as "joapasd". Should I remove this account entirely from GR? Then you can add WCG again and hopefully import using the name on your account. ...
Joao, could you tell me what user name you use to log in to World Community Grid and what stats it is showing? I queried the WCG server using the information we have for you at GridRepublic and it is claiming 0 credits. WCG requires that user names be unique, so it shouldn't be possible to have two different accounts with the same name.
It does seem to be a new account, though. WCG says it was created on Tue, 14 Jul 2009 03:13:08 GMT, which is immediately after your GridRepublic account was created.
Roy, I think the accounts still might not be straight. I looked up the account you have registered through GridRepublic and used that information to query the World Community Grid server. For total credit, it's saying you have 3209.57 right now. For what it's worth, it also says your account at WCG was created Fri, 26 Jun 2009 16:40:47 GMT, which is right after your GR account was created.
So it looks like GridRepublic still might be attached to the wrong WCG account, which is why the stats are reporting a lower number of credits.
We're working on a feature right now to allow "merging" of hosts. This would let you combine the old name and new name records to do exactly what you're asking.
However, it will be a few weeks or so before this option is available, so please hang in there while we work out the details.
The "refresh" button on your account home page should do it. If it still doesn't work or you already tried that, it's possible that an extended login session could get a blip in it so a quick logout and login should correct that....
