The URL for this project is case-sensitive and should be :

http://MindModeling.org/beta/

Manager complains in message tab, but all works fine with lower case URL.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Yes, I am having this same problem. Unfortunately--perhaps because of gridrepublic?--I am unable to "detach" from the project to try to reset it to the 'correct' URL.

Should I use, in GR, the Remove button (on the Projects tab, Edit subtab)? Unfortunately, I am not really sure what the consequences are of removing it from all computers ("This will stop work on this project on all your computers"...). (I don't even recognize some of the computers there, as an additional wrinkle.)

Ok, let's take your issues one at a time --

  • You are correct that you cannot "detach" from a project at your desktop application.  You need to "detach" (remove) projects using the GridRepublic web interface.   (ie, this website; if you are logged in, click "projects" above.)
As a consequence, you cannot make the "wrong URL" message in your error log go away (except by stopping work on the project: ie, removing it permanently from your project list).

But I should re-emphasize that in this case the "wrong URL" message  is of no functional consequence: it is not affecting your computer nor its ability to work on the project, nor is it affecting the project.  It is just a weird little quirk that we'll fix when we next update the project list.

Bottom line: no need to worry about this issue.
  • As a point of interest / by way of clarification -- If you "remove" a project using the GridRepublic web interface, then any/all of your computers will stop working on that project: in this case, mindmodeling@home would no longer be listed in your "Projects" lists and you would get no tasks, etc.  (For simplicity, if you have more than one computer attached to GridRepublic, all the computers work on the same list of projects, according to your settings here at the website.)
  • As for your last issue -- I'm not clear what you mean by "I don't even recognize some of the computers there"...  can you pls tell me {a} where "there" is -- on the GR "computers" page, the project website, your desktop appliation, somewhere else? and {b} can you tell me more specifically what you see?
