I had an idea here at GridRepublic we should provide a small flash or other captured video display of the screensavers from the projects that have them.
The big idea of SETI@home was a screensaver, many projects have them, and even with today people's concern with power savings and losing some computing power, but they are there and we should take advantage of them as another way to draw people to join. I and many others still like screen savers and they are a great way to get the word out. Some people will join just for the cool screensavers I have found from experience.
I know that not every project has a sceensaver, but we should use them as another reason to join.
sure that's doable. if anyone wants to do the captures i'll post. (prob the best way to capture is to "show graphics" for project "tasks" from inside gridrepublic desktop or boinc,;and to capture the window for 15 - 30 secs).
but fyi, we do have screenshots of the screensavers where available (or most of them anyhow) -- just click on the icon for the project screensaver in the projects pages
