1.  When I was using the original BOINC client (I'm now using Gridrepublic) I used to get snazzy graphics when certain projects were being run i.e. SETI@home.  Are they available with this program and how do I turn them on?

 2. I've got 28 projects runnig on my client so each gets a 3.57% resource share, how can I increase or decrease these values, say,  if I want to run more of the project of the month than the other projects?

Hello Patrick welcome to GridRepublic.  I may have the answer to your questions below.

1. To enable the screensaver you just need to change your computer's default screensaver to that of GridRepublic or BOINC depending on the program you are using.

Also for future reference upon the installation you can select to use GridRepublic/BOINC as your default screensaver by hitting the advanced button and checking the box for making it the default screensaver.

 2.  To change the preferences you click on projects in the top bar between about and giving or you can use this link here.

To edit computer preferences see here.

Hope this helps.  If not post back to let us know.
