I am running Winfows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit and the installation file  downloaded from http://download1.gridrepublic.org throws an errir after I click Run on the Open File - Security Warning dialog box. It is C:\Users\Downloads\GridRepublic Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

How can I troubleshoot and resolve this error?

Many thanks - Michael

Try installing the 64bit version of BOINC from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.2.33_windows_x86_64.exe

(i kept getting the same error when trying to load GR's client, eventually i noticed that my computer was downloading a 0 bytes file, so i think the gridrepublic download system is b0rked. For me, GR's stats reporting system is b0rked too, and they don't bother answering questions here, so you might be better off forgetting about GR completely until they sort themselves out. Best of luck)

Thanks. I did manage to get the chart working and took your suggestion to download the BOINC 64 bit client.

We had a period of high packet loss among other server warnings on Jan 7 that may have caused download issues and possibly invalid files.

Thanks for suggesting the generic BOINC client as it is compatible and has better support for newer systems.   We have a version 7 client in the works, but it hasn't been compiled and deployed for windows yet.

Sorry for the delayed reply and the troubles.
