I'm using GridRepublic and adding it as my manager into Boinc.  But when it starts SETI@home, it doesn't have my team information.  I can't readd SETI@home directly to boinc b/c it is already part of my GridRepublic account.  How do I use GridRepublic with SETI@home and have it pass along my team information?

Hi,

Let me see if I understand what you are asking.  You want to know why your team name for SETI@home is not showing up in the BOINC manager which is connected to GridRepublic?

Note: GridRepublic currently does not have the ability to manage teams (will be supported as development time and money allows)

Currently all team management is done at the individual projects in those accounts.  If you were already part of a team upon joining GridRepublic all information should appear in your manager.  GridRepublic does not store the individual project account information at this time and merely points your manager to the project's account and allows for joining and managing some of the settings for these accounts.

I cannot think of any way that GridRepublic would interfere with the display of the teams.

Suggested action:

  • If you joined SETI@home and had joined a team previous to joining GridRepublic verify that on the SETI@home website account that you are part of a team. SETI@home Account Page
  • When you joined GridRepublic to associate with any previous accounts you needed to join with the email and password used with previous projects like SETI@home or the old accounts will not be associated.  This can be resolved if you already joined by changing the projects or GridRepublic to those credentials.  The identification of your accounts are related to the email you sign up with.
If you have any other questions or additional information please post back.  We would like to help you solve this.

just by way of clarification --

* you should not use gridrepublic desktop and the boinc desktop software; just one or the other.  if you're already using boinc, no need to change since it will work fine with gridrepublic

* gridrepublic is not a team; joining gridrepublic will have no effect on team memberships.

 * gridrepublic does not at present support management of team associations for your project accounts.  if you want to create, join, leave, or change teams you need to do this directly at the project servers.
