Will Collatz Conjecture be added to GR?

I like what's being done here at GR, using mainly the ProgressThruProcessors facebook app to spread the word on Grid Computing. With Milkyway, though with much less users, Collatz Conjecture is providing a massive processing power to the grid/crunching community. So... when will we be able to show off our Collatz G-Hours? :-)

Hi ricman,

I do not have a date as to when you will be able to add Collatz to show off, but I hope we can begin to add new projects soon.  I'll look into this.

Thanks for your reply! I think the more projects you add (and there are already a lot, though some I believe retired or ended) the more users you attract into using GR and the FB app. And you know that to most people, right after breathing and just before crunching, FB is what matters the most :-)

Kind regards,

Ricardo

Ricadro,

I agree that Facebook is important in our future strategy.  We have many ideas of what else to add/integrate to improve experience and participation.  We plan on updating the project list upon completion of our backend transition to Drupal.

We always encourage community input as you are the ones using GridRepublic and helping to encourage others to participate.

I'm running Collatz Conjecture but GridRepublic still isn't listing it ( the Sonntags one!)

Your requests are being passed to those with power to add projects.  I see it was almost 2 years ago when this first came through as a request.

I don't know how long until it will be added due to our resources being split between multiple projects which help keep GridRepublic funded and operating. The current GridRepublic architecture is not condusive to adding projects, but our Drupal conversion will make adding more projects easier.  Project description, information, and the most time consumign key generation for security must be created before adding in the current model.  I'll bring this up in the next meeting.

I still use GR too,too bad I don't run CC anymore,it really ran well on my 5770s when I had crossfire.

I havent even tried it with my 7970 I've been @ Milkyway and SETI

I do not understand why this hasn't been handled already! If support was added I would start supporting Collatz again too.
